Nintendo Confirms Release of The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HD for Wii U

Nintendo executives announced in a recent episode of Nintendo Direct, that the HD, or high-definition version of the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is scheduled to release worldwide on March 4, 2016. Aside from this, the Japanese publisher revealed that a new amiibo figure representing Link in his wolf form, will also be uncovered during the launch.

There were only a few details that have been revealed about this 13th installment in the Legend of Zelda series, but it has been announced that a special edition of the game will be launched with an all-new Wolf Link amiibo. Nintendo will also release the new Twilight Princess amiibo figurine which shows Midna riding aback Wolf Link. It will be the first time that players of the 30-year-old game series will see an amiibo figure of the much-loved character, Midna. This amiibo will be sold separately at a later date, reported Video Games Blogger.

It was also mentioned in the Nintendo Sweden website that The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HD is going to be compatible with the Wii Remote and Nunchuck combo, according to a report in Geek Snack. This is great news for the fans of the series as gameplay becomes so much better if a gaming platform offers more control options.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is the first Wii Zelda game, and the last The Legend of Zelda game for GameCube. The Wii version of the game was released in America on November 2006, and was released in Japan later, reported Christian Post. The present game, which is a remake in HD version, will be released in Japan on March 10, 2016.

As of press time, the U.S. pricing for the game has not been specified yet, but players can estimate that the Japanese version is at 5,700 yen (around $46), while the Wolf Link figure will be available for 1,500 yen (around $12). The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HD will be released next year in all regions, exclusively on Wii U.
