'Deadpool' is an upcoming superhero film directed by Tim Miller. Ryan Reynolds dressed as Deadpool was released for a promotional Thanksgiving photograph. Morena Baccarin revealed that filming the graphic scenes with Reynolds was fun but she didn't like getting nude all the time.
According to Cinema Blend, Ryan Reynolds donned his superhero costume for a promotional photoshoot for the Thanksgiving holiday. A seductive photograph of Deadpool graced Twitter on November 26 showing him lying on top of a dinner table complete with plates and napkins. It was captioned, "I forget. Is a turducken stuffed with three additional meats, or four? Happy Thanksgiving."
Reynolds is well known for posting hilarious and oftentimes inappropriate promotional material over at the official Deadpool social media accounts. He will be portraying one of Marvel's raunchier comic book characters - with the film being tagged to come with an unsurprising R-rated badge.
Deadpool was first depicted as a supervillain during his debut on Marvel Comics' 'The New Mutants'. He has since then evolved into an anti-hero endowed with accelerated healing powers as well as mastery of hand-to-hand combat. According to MNR Daily, the standalone film will follow Wade Wilson a.k.a. Deadpool, a disfigured and mentally unstable mercenary infamous for his talkative nature.
Other talents joining Reynolds include Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Ed Skrein as Ajax, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Andre Tricoteaux as Piotr Rasputin, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Morena Baccarin as Reynold's on-screen love interest Vanessa Carlysle a.k.a. Copycat.
Baccarin joined Collider's group interview and talked about her character Vanessa as well as their relationship with Deadpool. She admitted that prior to joining the upcoming film, she was not familiar with the comic books. She said that Vanessa and Wade's relationship plays an important role in the unfolding of events in the film and that shooting the numerous intimate scenes were fun even though she didn't fancy getting naked all the time.
Baccarin revealed that although her character won't have any superpowers in the upcoming film, Vanessa will get in on the action. She said, "This character's scrappy, she's not worried about her hair and her nails or messing around. She gets down and dirty and she's not a victim, she's not a damsel in distress. It actually even says that in some of the fighting, she's like 'I can take care of myself and if you think I'm just gonna sit here and scream so you can come and rescue me, you're wrong.'"
'Deadpool' is an upcoming live-action adaptation of the Marvel character of the same name. It stars Ryan Reynolds in the titular role and is directed by Tim Miller. It is currently in post-production and scheduled to premiere in theaters on February 12, 2016.
