The upcoming Hitman game is scheduled for release March 11, 2016 and is said to have a whole new setting for players to experience and explore. During the Paris Games Week, developer Square Enix revealed some game details, including news, updates, and its upcoming new trailer.
During the event, the developers unveiled a video entitled 'Welcome to Sapienza' which showed a new location for the new Hitman game. The video featured the fictional town of Sapienza, located in the southern coast of Italy. Crossmap reveals that the video also showed that a player may choose hand-to-hand combat, long range sniper shot, or go in all guns blazing. Meanwhile, fulfilling contracts involves a player's own choice and decision making. The game also encourages creativity as players may employ multiple ways to complete their objectives. Likewise, after an enemy defeat, a player can take their outfits and disguise as the latter in order to gain access to restricted areas. Bonuses are awarded to players in accordance to their performance during missions. Furthermore, the actions of non-playable characters also affect the gameplay.
Being the sixth game in the franchise, Io-Interactive said not to think of the game as a mere reboot, but as a pure Hitman game experience and the basis for upcoming Hitman games as well. Coming Soon reveals that each location in the game serves as a living sandbox where every NPC has a name and every room matters. Playing in Agent 47's shoes, a player must use his skills and intelligence within one's controller and think whether one uses brute force or device a stealth assassination.
One can get a sneak peek of the Hitman gameplay through its official trailer reposted by PlayStation Lifestyle. The trailer was released shortly after the gameplay livestream. It is further reported that another new trailer is bound for release just before the game's official release through a Tweet from Io-Interactive's official Twitter account.
The strategic third person shooter Hitman by Square Enix and Io-Interactive is scheduled to release on March 11, 2016. The game shall be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
