Sony Xperia Z3 Compact devices are currently receiving a new update with a full solution to the Stagefright vulnerability. As the update first came late in November, there have been reports that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow nears its official roll out to the device.
Sony has just released the new firmware version 23.4.A.1.264, a minor update that comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, to the Xperia Z3 Compact device recently. According to a report from Android Standard, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now flagged imminent as the update was believed to be the final one for Lollipop.
The same report suggested that the latest Android software might come anytime this month, as it was already reported in the past. Aside from Xperia Z3 Compact (D5803), other Sony devices which get the same update include Xperia Z3 (D6603) and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact (SGP611, SGP612 and SGP621).

Meanwhile, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade comes with a few noticeable improvements like a new apps menu, app search bar and a more stylish clock.
First, the new apps menu has gone a different path with the ways it works. In lieu of scrolling app pages in a horizontal fashion, Marshmallow goes the opposite direction with a snappy vertical movement. This method is prominent is Windows-ran phones and HTC Sense's custom interface for Android. Four special apps will also be placed at the top of the menu.
Second, the app search bar goes at the top of the apps menu. This positions the feature in a more convenient location. Users are also allowed to search by folder, category, etc. for a faster lookup.
