The Sony Xperia Z3 smartphone is officially bound for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade next month, according to news reports. The update will come in with Sony's native features on top of Google's.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow build had been confirmed coming to the Xperia Z3 device, and is now been reported to hit the smartphone in December 2015. Although, there have been no concrete statement to support the news, tech analysts suggest that the Christmas schedule is a notable bonus.
The device has just received the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop via official roll out over-the-air a few weeks ago. Many users were outspoken of the final Lollipop version's performance to be impressive by far.
Meanwhile, well-known XDA Developers community has already released its own concept of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to these devices, along with Xperia Z3+. Also, it will be made available to other devices soon.
Sony Xperia Z3 was released in September 2014. It rocks a 5.2-inch display made of an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen capable of 16 million colors. It is protected by a Triluminous glass and X-Reality Engine which makes it shatter proof. It also sports a 20 MP main camera, 2.2 MP front camera, 3 GB of RAM and non-removable 3,100 mAh battery.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow software will offer Xperia Z3 improvements in app permissions, web experience, Android Pay, app link, automatic backup, fast charging capacity, and system UI tuner, among many others.
App permissions give the users the opportunity to individually deny or allow apps asking for permissions. Permission request will show up when the app requires so and not at the point of installation. This gives user full control of their apps.
Web experience has been hugely improved. With the new Chrome Custom Tab, linking to a source will be opened with customization at the top of the window with launching an app separately. This way, users can better interact between apps and websites. This specially designed browser also features sign-in, saved password, auto fill and multi-process security.
