Select owners of the mid-range handset OnePlus X have started getting the latest Oxygen OS 2.1.3 update as OnePlus rolled out the OTA last week. The Oxygen OS 2.1.3 update for OnePlus X packs new features and improvements recommended by both users and OnePlus engineers.
According to Tech Times, the Oxygen OS 2.1.3 update focused on improving user experience for the SD card. It is worth noting that the OnePlus X is the first OnePlus phone to come with built-in microSD card slot.
The Oxygen OS 2.1.3 OTA update offers UX improvements, exFAT SD card support, ability to transfer apps to and from the SD card. It also fixes the bug causing the phone to reboot when the SD card is removed. Security patches and overall system fixes and optimizations are packaged in the update.
OTA updates typically start rollout to devices in stages, and the OnePlus X is no exception. According to an earlier report by Venture Capital Post, the Oxygen OS 2.1.3 update will first come to select OnePlus X users for testing. After 24 to 48 hours, the OTA update will be trickled down to other OnePlus X devices.
The Oxygen OS 2.1.3 update for the OnePlus X is equal to the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop platform. Online news publication site Tech Shout! reported that OnePlus X users might have to wait longer for the OnePlus version of the latest Android Marshmallow. There is no official word yet from the company when the Android Marshmallow will come to OnePlus X.
The OnePlus X is a mid-range phone that offers premium specs and features in a low-cost price. Earlier this month, the device received the Oxygen OS 2.1.2 update which focused on camera app enhancements, OTA stability, and system boost for more efficient battery consumption.
