Half-Life 3 is seemingly one of the biggest frustrations of Valve followers up to this date. Given that the past 2 expansions have emerged victorious over other titles in the past, it is typically normal for the idea to be born but Valve themselves have debunked the idea straight forward.
As reported by Vine Report, Half-Life 3 has come and gone for so many times in the past, unleashing a wrath in the form of fan demands, speculations, rumors and even petitions to get the game up and running. Simply put, Valve's Gabe Newell advises the fans to not keep too much of their hopes up as the team certainly is not putting Half-Life 3 in front of the line.
Moreover, according to Parent Herald, the title has been rumored to roam behind the shadows of the company, having only a team of ten people working on the supposed third installment. Valve has kept mum over these hunches, and clarified that as of the moment, Half-Life 3 is all but a certainty. To iterate things more, fans are severely urged to direct their attention to another talked-about continuity, namely Left 4 Dead 3.
In addition, Valve is said to be putting immense attention to the proposed third installment in the first-person zombie shooter franchise as the story looks to get a full 360-degree refurbishing. Rumors state that it will be a prequel and is set to transpire before the infection became drastic, and more interestingly, with a different cast to take note, According to Youth Health Mag.
As the other two titles can be remembered to have only one female character per expansion, the same applies for the third, namely Katherine, together with a gangster named Irvin, a comic book geek named Keenan and a Kenpo fighter named Garrett Jr.
Sadly, Half-Life 3 looks to be outweighed by upcoming fellow Valve first-person shooter, Left 4 Dead 3. For the time being, all speculations and rumors have been put away and there might be no use in expecting much from Valve regarding the dream title.
