A recent leak via Australia's Classification Board has revealed that a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game is on the way and will be developed by Activision.
The leak surfaced through Austrialia's Classification Board ratings system for video games, as the upcoming TMNT game gets an "M" rating. Tech Times reveals that the game's official title shall be "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan." The "M" rating is equivalent to the "T" or "Teen" rating of the United States' Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). Furthermore, it was revealed that the rating received a comment that the new game shall involve violence and online interactivity.
It is also reported that the game is Activision's partnership with the Japanese developer Platinum Games. In another report by Venture Beat, another game rating surfaced in Brazil which revealed its playability in PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms. The report also revealed that the "M" rating meant that the game is suitable for gamers aged 15 and above. While the TMNT had entered into numerous game titles before, the gaming community had not yet seen a huge success. However, with Platinum games' track record, the developer might just give hope to the gaming community, the site opined.
When completed, the TMNT game will be the third licensed project of Platinum Games in partnership with Activision in roughly 12 months. IGN further reports that a 7.8 GB patch for Activision's Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 shall add a new character campaign for the upcoming TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan to the game. Meanwhile, Platinum is also currently developing Nintendo's Star Fox Zero, Microsoft's Scalebound, and Square Enix' Nier: Automata.
Although the supposed game developer Activision has not yet released any official announcement of the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan video game, it is likely to come out soon. Though Activision did not receive lots of positive comments from fans and critics from its TMNT: Out of the Shadows, the developer's partnership with Platinum worked well with The Legend of Korra and Transformers: Devastation.
