The success of the Ant-Man movie was evident as Marvel announced a sequel movie entitled "Ant-Man and The Wasp". It was only a short time since the studio planned on moving on with the sequel. While the movie is underway its production, director Peyton Reed hinted some details regarding the film.
In an interview, the filmmaker revealed what the focus of the upcoming film will be. While the first movie was a good one, Reed wants the fans to "have fun with in the second movie". The Inquisitr also noted that the "Ant-Man and The Wasp" movie characters have already been drafted out with "some weird, unique and different territory."
Furthermore, Reed admitted that he is not pressured but rather excited like a kid to put the new characters in his new film. While the excitement is visible, Newsarama noted that "Ant-Man and The Wasp" movie will have a touch of the comedic and action components with his goal of making the second installment a much weirder one.
"We all knew the tone we were after. We wanted the movie and characters to be funny, but you have to take the hero and the powers seriously," Reed said. "The goal is to keep what we really liked for the characters in the first one, but to make it a much weirder movie."
While the studio keeps the details and casts under wraps, Reed expressed his interest in casting Michael Douglas back as professor Hank Pym. Meanwhile, Comic Book indicated that Douglas's Hank Pym will still be playing another huge part of the Ant-Man and The Wasp movie. It was also explained that the latest project will feature different time scenes in different eras.
It was clear that Ant-Man and the Wasp's relationship will be explored thoroughly as it has been in the comic books. The two characters have had a great partnership but their fighting style and history will be a massive blow in the film. The team is on its way to writing the script for the "Ant-Man and The Wasp" film.
