The Last Ship will continue to sail the world of global disaster as it was renewed for its third season. The team struggles to spread the cure across the country in Season 3. Law & Order's Elizabeth Rohm and Jane the Virgin's Bridget Regan join the team.
Filming for the third installment of The Last Ship has started last October and said to contain 13 regular episodes. Lt. Carlton Burk (Jocko Sims) and Lt. Alisha Granderson (Christina Elmore) posted a behind the scenes video of filming which can be viewed here. Eric Dane's Tom Chandler, Adam Baldwin's Mike Slattery and Rhona Mitra's Rachel Scott will be facing the challenges of spreading the cure with the lack of infrastructure at the intimidation of The Immunes.
The Hollywood Reporter interviewed showrunners Steve Kane and Hank Steinberg for some The Last Ship Season 3 spoilers and both spilled that the location will go beyond the ship. Storywise, the team has to cross borders and states to distribute the cure developed by Dr, Scott, however, the absence of applicable resources will be burdensome for them. Kane assured viewers that the cast will not be confined in Nathan James anymore but adventures will take place in the bigger world.
Season 3 of the post-apocalyptic series will see fresh faces including Law & Order" veteran Elisabeth Rohm and Jane the Virgin's" Bridget Regan, Cross Map published. Regan is to portray Sasha who is assigned to work as an undercover in China and rumored to be cast as a series regular. On the other hand, Rohm will play Shaw who serves as Chief of Staff to President Michener (Mark Moses).
TNT's one of the highest rated scripted drama series The Last Ship received 2.93 million viewers in Season 2 in the 18 - 49 demographics. The series is set to return on June or July of 2016.
