Sony Xperia C5 Ultra is one lucky smartphone, as it is confirmed for the official over-the-air (OTA) update of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. New reports have suggested that upgrade will begin early next year.
Sony is expected to kick off the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade to its devices. Xperia C5 Ultra is slated to receive the new build as soon as January 2016 or later in April.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come in with new features and improvements in functionality, user experience, and overall system performance.
Last October 6, Sony revealed its Marshmallow roadmap following revelation of other original device manufacturers like HTC, Motorola and Samsung. According to its list, there will be 14 lucky devices up for Marshmallow upgrade and Xperia C5 Ultra made the cut. However, the Japanese tech giant has no official statement yet with regards to the release date despite strong reports told December 2015 is the month.
Sony Xperia C5 Ultra was first released in August 2015. The device has a 6-inch display made of an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen protected by a scratch resistant glass. It boasts a 13 MP main camera, 13 MP front camera, 2 GB of RAM, and a non-removable 2,930 mAh battery.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings not only improvements in features but smoother processes and device management solutions as well. Meanwhile, Google Now is the most popular and most improved app of Android, as it now becomes more intuitive.
Originally, Google Now only works as a predictive assistant on the device's home screen and scuttle through apps to gather more information with immediacy about anything under the sun. This works by press holding the home button even while an app is open. Google will read the screen and process its content and will begin suggesting according to user's possible sphere of interests.
Marshmallow will also feature enhancements in user interface, web experience and overall system performance.
