The Android 6.0 Marshmallow software is now officially set to release to Sony Xperia C4 via over-the-air (OTA) update. The roll out is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2016.
Sony Xperia C4 will be getting a major treat from Google dev as the device is officially bound for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update early next year. Being the biggest software update of Android, Marshmallow will come in with new key features at premium functionality and quality.
Although, the Japanese tech giant has not released any official statement so far regarding the roll out, Marshmallow will most likely come to the device by then.
Sony Xperia C4 was first released in June 2015. Its 5.5-inch display is carefully crafted with IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen protected by a scratch resistant glass. It rocks a 13 MP back camera, 5 MP front camera, 2 GB of RAM, and a non-removable 2,600 mAh battery.
Meanwhile, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will offer the best-ever features and improvements to the device, to wit:
- Fingerprint support. This gives device uniform support for fingerprint scanners devices running Marshmallow. Fingerprint functions to confirm purchases, unlock phones and purchase and shop in real-life or in the Play Store.
- Mobile payments. With Marshmallow, device supports American Express, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. It also brings Google Pay.
- App drawer. This feature has an all-new design. It now scrolls vertically instead of horizontally against white background. It also shows four most recently used apps across the top of the menu.
- Power and charging. Android Marshmallow expands device up to two times longer standby time using Doze. It makes use of motion detectors to control device when not in use. It also diminishes background processes, while begins alarms and informs users of priority notifications even when using Doze.
- Google Now. This feature becomes smarter. It knows different contexts, provides answers and helps users take action.
Marshmallow is also confirmed to 13 other Sony smartphones and tablets.
