Street Fighter 5 Cinematic, Release Date, Post-Launch Characters, In-Game Currency Revealed at PSX 2015

A great deal of Street Fighter 5 details was announced by Capcom at the recently concluded Sony's PlayStation Experience 2015. It includes the opening cinematic for the upcoming fighting game, the reveal of the new and final character in the roster, F.A.N.G, the 2016 Capcom Pro Tour that will happen next year, the In-Game Currency system, the Post-Launch Characters and the game's Season Pass.

GameSpot reports that the exhilarating opening cinematic, which is unveiled for the first time, was shown after the grand final at Capcom Cup event at the PlayStation Experience 2015 event.

Also, another fighter, F.A.N.G, is revealed as the final character in the Street Fighter 5 starting roster who proclaimed himself as as the second in command of Shadaloo, notes Capcom Unity Blog.

According the blog, F.A.N.G is an assassin with unique poison attacks who oversees Shadaloo's operations and does evil experiments within the research facilities of Shadaloo.

Whenever F.A.N.G's poison attacks connect, the opponent's life bar continues to decrease until he is hit or the poison is consumed, leaving him feeling ill. Capcom Unity Blog gives a more detailed information on the fighting abilities of F.A.N.G.

With regard to the in-game currency, Capcom allows players to choose on how they will get it and that is through Fight Money which can be obtained by playing the game, or through Zenny, which can be purchased with real money. 100 Zenny is equivalent to $1.

Six characters will be added after the game's launch next year, namely: Alex, Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Juri, and Urien. These characters can be get for free through gameplay, they can be bought via the 2016 Season Pass which is now available for pre-purchase in North America. The Season Pass will be available in Europe during the game's launch.

Lastly, the 2016 Capcom Pro Tour will kick off on March 18 next year. Producer Yoshinori Ono announced that Street Fighter 5 will be the official game, with a $500,000 prize pool.

Street Fighter 5 is developed exclusively for PS4 and PC with cross-platform play between both systems. It is scheduled for release on February 16 next year.
