Google already addressed the reports stating that the Nexus Player, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P are in distress due to bugs that is introduce with Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. As of the moment, the search engine company says it has already created a fix for the two phones which will be coming to users very soon.
According to Tech Times, the excitement that surrounds the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software update is seeing an obstacle when some Nexus device owners experienced muted display colors after installation the operating system.
Users used the Google Nexus help forum to express their annoyance of situation. The issue brings distress to those who have updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow as the colors of their handsets are getting washed out when seeing a video on their Android device or the set-top box. Owners are complaining on forums such as XDA and Reddit that all the blacks now look like light grey.
However, the issue only demonstrates when one is playing a video. The apps or the UI is not affected after the update to Android Marshmallow.
International Business Times reported that the Android Marshmallow update has changed the RGB settings of the device from full RGB having value that ranges from 0 to 255 to RGB Limited with 16-235value making the screen to display washed out colors.
NDTV Gadgets said on its article that Google has acknowledged the issue and is already working on a fix. "Hey everyone, we understand the severity of this issue. It's a widespread problem impacting all Nexus Players on 6.0. We're working as fast as possible to resolve it," a Google employee stated.
He also added that "We also noticed similar problems on Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X, as reported in #14; however, those had a different root-cause. Those have been fixed internally, and will be included in a future MR."
Nexus Player, 5X, and 6P owners might be annoyed with the bugs that are present on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but Google is assuring that the solution is underway. It has not given yet an exact time frame, however, as to when but hopefully, it will be rolled out as soon as it is finished.
