‘The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine’ DLC Set to Launch Q1 2016

Developer CD Projekt RED has recently announced that the expansion entitled Blood and Wine DLC for the third installment of the series, The Witcher 3: Wildhunt. The DLC was scheduled to be released on the first quarter of 2016, which is reported to offer another 20 hours of gameplay.

Coming along the expansion are the patch 1.12 update, DirectX 12 support, and a new trailer. However, details on the patch are yet to be revealed. CD Projekt RED assured that the second expansion will surely be worth the wait. Community Manager Marcin Momot, through a Twitter post, confirmed that CD Projekt RED would be integrating the fan feedbacks to the new updates as well. Realty Today further reveals that the expansion's plot shall focus on Geralt's investigation on the mysteries surrounding the Kingdom of Touissant as a terrible dark secret hides beneath its peaceful surroundings.

Aside from new gameplay changes, the games shall also introduce new characters from the lores and novels, as reported by Yibada. These characters include Fringello Vigo, the sorceress and former flame, and her cousin, Anna Henrietta, the Dutchess of Touissant. New monsters shall be featured as well, which includes Stringas, Bruxas, and Manticores. Furthermore, it is reported that there will also be a new ModKit for players to customize.

Furthermore, it is inevitable for The Witcher fan community to wonder if whether The Witcher 3 would be the end of the series. In an interview with CEO Adam Kicinski, he assured that the fans have not seen the last of The Witcher, referring to The Witcher 3. However, he also stated that it is too early to talk about the matter at the moment. Segment Next also reported that CD Projekt RED will going to be very busy in the coming years. What is certain is that the CEO himself assured that another sequel is in line for the series.

The Blood and Wine DLC of The Witcher 3: Wildhunt by CD Projekt RED is scheduled to launch on Q1 of 2016. The game is presently available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC platforms.
