Developer Quantic Dreams has remastered Beyond: Two Souls to the PS4 consoles as it seems that every company with a new product on the line would always consider remastering of a previous work. On the other news, the developers have answered the white-washing accusations thrown to them.
The game, as commented by Yibada, was created with the intent to be playable on PS4 but to everyone's surprise, ended up being playable on PS3. Quantic Dreams, led by French developer David Cage, has recently been working on further enhancements for the game's latest addition for PS4. The current enhancements brought lots of improvements including greater cinematic resolution which allows more vivid and clearer facial details. Also, the size significantly increased from 25 GB to 33 GB. Shadows and lighting also received major enhancements with polishing to other effects. However, the main focus of the improvements is the 30 frames per second update.
On the other hand, ever since snapshots and videos of the game have surfaced the internet, it have had received some rampage, as recent images have suggested that some characters have been white-washed, specifically the Middle Eastern characters. In response, Gamespresso reported that Quantic Dreams described such accusations as 'upsetting'. The developers responded and expressed their regret for having to live in a world where they have to justify the mere looks of the character and that they have to do such explanation publicly. Nevertheless, the developers reassured that Quantic Dream shall continue to promote racial and gender diversity, as well as positive human emotions and values.
With the PS4 remastering of the game, Dread Central opined that the developers have shown the gaming community that slower games may be exciting as well. Being creative and different, Beyond: Two Souls is a worthy addition to every gamers' PS4 libraries. The gamestory was very well told and memorable but was unfortunately held back by some creative decisions.
With the new updates, gamers would now be able a smooth gaming experience, which is also offered together with a DLC package. The game is now available for $29.99 for PS4.
