Following the release of Star Wars Battlefront on November this year, many gamers observe that the first person shooter is lacking in depth. Game developer also hinted that the next Star Wars might include single player mode.
Electronic Arts Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen disclosed during the Nasdaq Investor Conference in Europe that Star Wars Battlefront is intended to be a shallow shooter, PC Gamer reported.
The site quoted Jorgensen saying that the game is planned to be easily reached by a varied age group. "So, an eight-year-old could play with his father on the couch, as well as a teenager or 20-year-old could play the game and enjoy it. It is more accessible," he said. It is even added that for the hardcore gamers, Battlefront may possibly not have the complexity they sought in a game.
Neowin observed that Battlefront was not promoted as family-oriented game. In its place, Electronic Arts features a profound playable Star Wars shooter in a Star Wars Universe in a heroic clash between Rebel Alliance and Empire. In addition, the site suggested that EA should have satisfied the gamers' anticipations and not that they build expectations and ruined before long the Battlefront's launch.
Fans are absorbed by the vibrant depiction of legendary Star Wars skirmishes and backdrop while critics have resented its simple content and limited play variety including the exclusion of single player content or a campaign mode, wrote TV News Room.
The site added that DICE hinted that while they focused on multiplayer mode and set aside the single player in the Battlefront, it is possible that the development of the game may include the single-player mode.
"This isn't to say that decision for future games are locked in stone, we'll determine what that team does as the development team gets further down that process," DICE said.
Star Wars Battlefront is an action shooter video game released this November 17 and is developed by DICE and Criterion Games, published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows.
