Star Citizen: Alpha 2.0 Gameplay Trailer, New Features Discussed; Game Dev Elaborates Fan Limitations

By

The space exploration title Star Citizen is one title that has harvested attention on a massive scale-most of which from the backers and fans that have immensely addicted over the game. As recent promotions of the title were exposed to the public, one small hint was clarified by Cloud Imperium Games that seemingly drew confusion to the fans.

According to PC Gamer, fans of the well-backed Star Citizen title have shown just how dedicated they are in making the title flourish from where it stands-some going beyond the notably rational financial scale. With all the said support, Cloud Imperium Games has released a trailer during The Game Awards a few days ago, wherein Star Citizen Alpha 2.0 showcased some of the feats that await the fans all throughout.

The video, as reported by VG247, showcased a lot of what Star Citizen Alpha 2.0 has in store, including the privilege of spaceflight, the classically adored first-person shooter feel and more importantly, extra-vehicular activity which gamers simply quote as EVA. Fans are then further teased with a quote towards the very end which stated that "The first-person universe is just getting started", which is for many, a thorough interpretation that there will, indeed, be more features to come.

A clarification on the said matter was issued, however, by Cloud Imperium Games, and it was stated in a report by PC GamesN. Though the invitation was rather enticing to some, only a handful of players can actually get their hands on the Star Citizen Alpha 2.0 version, because it is not entirely playable unless they are part of the 110,000 Citizens that have access to the public test server. Moreover, the trailer's ending line was planned to undergo change, and the team behind it explained further.

Ben Lesnick, the Developer, was quoted on elaborating, "Unfortunately, as folks testing and observing know, we were hit with a slowdown bug that seemed to come out of nowhere, for those not following the testing chatter, that's why you haven't see a PTU build in the last two days. Knowing what we do now, we would have liked to have changed the exact wording on the trailer. Unfortunately, it was locked in well before the event."

Regardless of the mishaps that may have befallen Cloud Imperium's Star Citizen Alpha 2.0, the title is still on track and promises features to go with it. Keep posted on Cloud Imperium's critically talked-about title.
