LG is set to release yet another flagship with LG G5 which is heavily speculated to include competitive and new security features, and high resolution cameras. While the South Korean company is yet to officially announce details of its release, it is rumored to hit shelves after the MWC next year.
LG has been known for its innovative features in their gadgets and thus with the release of the new smartphone it will not be surprising to see new features that have not been seen in other devices. As reported by Slash Gear, the new innovation to be expected from the LG G5 is its iris-scanner feature that can scan the eye from 50cm away.
The new biometric scanner is reported to be made possible with the company's partnership with IRIENCE, a Korean company that develops iris scanning technology. Moreover, with the addition of an iris scanner, the new gadget might subsequently do away with the finger scanners.
Furthermore, according to Vine Report, the new device is also rumored to be released with 5.5 to 6.0 inch screen display, a 21MP back camera with features including laser autofocus, OIS, dual-LED flash, and 4K video while the front facing camera will be at 8MP. It is also speculated to feature 4GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage
Cross Map also reported that the device is likely to be released with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chip, along with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, a USB-C port, and a 4000 mAh battery. However, with the latest and unique features, existing rumors also suggest that it could be released with a non-removable battery and the micro-SD support might not be included.
The shift to the non-removable batteries is new for the brand, although it has been the trend with the new smartphones. However, it is worth noting that these specs and features have not been officially confirmed by LG, thus, it must be treated with a grain of salt. The LG G5 is rumored to be introduced during Mobile World Conference 2016 which might take place February 2016 at Barcelona, Spain.
