HBO's limited series Big Little Lies boarded yet two outstanding and well-known actresses, The Fault In Our Stars alumnae Shailene Woodley and Laura Dern. Adam Scott drafted as Witherspoon's loving husband in the series.
Based on Liane Moriarty's Big Little Lies novel published back in July 2014, HBO's Big Little Lies tells a story of three mothers of kindergartners from Australia whose seemingly desire to project perfect lives fall apart resorting to murder. HBO's adaptation of Big Little Lies was created by David E. Kelley, best known for writing and producing television hit series Ally McBeal and Chicago Hope. Entertainment Weekly noted Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, who earlier casted as Madeline and Celeste respectively, also serves as the series' executive producers.
Oscar winners Kidman and Witherspoon will be joined by another A-list actress Laura Dern, TV Line recently noted. Jurassic Park and Wild alumna Dern is reportedly to play Renata Klein, a successful career woman and strong supporter of anti-bullying movements, whose active participation for the movement in and out the school gets her criticized. Dern had worked with Witherspoon as mother and daughter in the movie Wild.
Kidman announced in The Hindustan Times Leadership Project in New Delhi that Divergent alumna Shailene Woodley will return to the small screen alongside Kidman and Witherspoon in Big Little Lies. Bustle published Woodley is set to play the single mother named Jane and will become friends with Madeline and Celeste. But during an interview with HBO, the network refused to confirm Woodley's casting in the series.
The list for the outstanding cast members is not over yet. Parks and Recreation alumnus Adam Scott has confirmed signing up to Big Little Lies. His character Ed Mackenzie, the faithful and secure husband of Madeline.
HBO has not confirmed yet on the release date but sources mentioned Big Little Lies will premiere in 2016.
