Despite the online movement to save Person of Interest and adopt by other networks, Season 5 is the end for the critically acclaimed sci-fi television series. A changed Shaw returned causes the team to be cautious around her. Premiere season has been extended.
The Ex-CIA agent John Reese (Jim Caviezel) and billionaire Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) accidental pair coming for the fifth season of Person of Interest. However, viewers have to endure a longer wait as CBS reportedly announced the delay of its premiere season. Realty Today reported that CBS initially announced the shows premiere on mid-season of 2016 but postponed to summer of 2016. The delay is the network's strategy to promote the show and increase its ratings.
Earlier this year, Kaily Russell started an online petition for Person of Interest extension of more than five seasons. The request initially needed 15,000 signatures but presently requiring 25,000. As for the moment, the Person of Interest's change.org already garnered 17,156 signatures, still 7,844 short of the necessary signatures.
But Yibada posted that the cancellation is final, atleast the entire cast and production team think so. If ratings increase in Season 5, CBS may have a change of heart and Person of Interest may be renewed for another season.
In our fourth season finale recap, Sameen Shaw (Sarah Shahi) took side with the Samaritan after she was presumed dead by Team Machine. Person of Interest Season 5 sees the return of a brand new Shaw to Team Machine. But not everyone is happy with her return. Reese senses Shaw's arrival will cause trouble to the team and the Machine. Root assures Reese and the rest of the team that Shaw can still change back to her old self.
In another news, Reese is teased to find a new love, will only last for a short time. There are no details yet as to who will play the Reese's love interest.
Person of Interest was created by Jonathan Nolan for television and premiered on 22 September 2011 and set to return for its final fifth season next year. The show won People's Choice Awards for Favorite New TV Drama in 2012 and been nominated for MPSE Golden Reel Awards, NACCP, and Primetime Emmy Awards.
