Outlander star Caitriona Balfe has been nominated for the Golden Globe Awards 2016 while author Diana Gabaldon spilled some details about the production of Season 2. Also, stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona were mobbed during a shooting in Scotland.
Balfe who plays the role of Claire Randall has been nominated as Best Actress in a Drama Category for Golden Globe Awards 2016 as reported by IB Times. Balfe in return expressed thanks to her fans and cited how surprised she was via Twitter.
Meanwhile, Diana Gabaldon, author of "Outlander" novel series, has shared some details with The Scotsman about Season 2's production. Gabaldon said, "They complain bitterly about what they see as the delay in putting on the next series as they have no idea how long it takes to make an episode. It literally takes 4 weeks of filming and another 4 weeks of post-production but if they want to do day-time scenes everyone has to get up really early in the morning to get the first hint of daylight.
It's been pretty bad weather for about 3/4 of the time I've been on set. It's been quite difficult for them because of the problems with moving equipment through mud, rain, snow and everything, but on the other hand they are rather used to it."
In more news, "Outlander" stars Sam Heughan (as Jamie Fraser) and Caitriona Balfe were spotted by fans while shooting scenes in Scotland. According to Realty Today, the whole cast and crew are currently in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, Scotland to film in the Dean Castle. Even though the film crew were surrounded by the security team, fans still managed to take pictures during the shoot.
"Outlander" Season 2 scheduled launch is slated to premiere around March or April 2016 exclusively on Starz. "Outlander" is an American-British TV drama series created by Ronald D. Moore and is based on Diana Gabaldon's novel under the same name.
