The American drama-thriller series Mr. Robot renewed for second season with all ten episodes to be directed by Sam Esmail. Christian Slater to reprise his role while Elliot Alderson drowns deeper into dejection in the forthcoming Season 2.

The announcement for the renewal of Mr.Robot for Season 2 was declared earlier this year, prior to the release of Mr. Robot Season 1. The next season will comprise of 10 episodes, all will be directed by the series' showrunner and creator, occasionally writer, Sam Esmail.

Screen Rant reported that the creative team has begun working on Mr. Robot Season 2 stories. The show received good ratings, with combined three million views, under USA Network and recently received numerous nominations for Golden Globe Awards next year.

The second season of Mr. Robot will dig deeper into Elliot Alderson's (Rami Malek, nominated for Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama, Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series, and Satellite Award for Best Actor - Television Series Drama) mental state as he becomes more depressed.

According to Christian Today, the depression is caused by the death of his girlfriend Shayla (Frankie Shaw) and turned to drugs to comfort him. The season will be more intense as Elliot attempts to seek revenge for the death of Shayla.

Another spoiler was published by Realty Today indicating the return of Christian Slater's Edward Alderson in Mr. Robot Season 2. However, Edward will only appear in Season 2 thru flashbacks. It will be noted that Christian Slater plays Mr. Robot, who is a fragment of Elliot's imagination but the spoilers added that Season 2 will give an opportunity to Mr. Robot to communicate to other people in Elliot's life.

There is no official announcement yet on the premiere of Mr. Robot Season 2 but sources say it will be released in 2016.
