Samsung is now releasing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software to Galaxy Note 4 devices. The official over-the-air (OTA) release of the new build began in the European region and is expected to head out to the United States in the coming weeks.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is set to receive a fair share of its Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade, as the official roll out of the biggest software Google has ever innovated will commence in some countries of Europe today particularly in Hungary. After roughly six months of waiting for a major upgrade, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will finally experience Marshmallow. However, locked or versions under a mobile carrier will have to wait for a later date to receive the official Marshmallow.
The schedule of release of Marshmallow to the device has recently been pegged in February 2016, which means Samsung dropped an earlier roll out than expected, a surprise to all Galaxy Note 4 owners who have been irked by overdue software updates.
As expected, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow build will bring in a host of new features and improvements. This includes Google's screen-off memo function which pioneered with Galaxy Note 5. This feature allows users to jot down bits of notes using the S Pen even when phone is in deep sleep.
Galaxy Note 5's air command menu will also be integrated with the software upgrade. This activates when the S Pen is removed from its slot for quick note taking.
Along with the screen-off and air command expansion to other device is the redesigned and sleeker TouchWiz user interface revealed by a Europe-based tech site.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow offers improvements in contextual assistance, battery management, Android Runtime, connectivity, storage, and more.
Aside from Samsung, LG has begun as well in Europe its upgrade of G4 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. This sees a probable release in the US in the coming weeks.
