Samsung is expected to release another family member of its Galaxy A series named Samsung Galaxy A9. This handset is believed to be launched at Consumer Electronics Show 2016 (CES 2016).
International Business Times recently reported that the Samsung Galaxy A9 might be hit the market by the end of 2015 but considering the days left, it could be pushed back next year. It is expected at the Consumer Electronics Show 2016 (CES 2016) on 6 January. In fact, the South Korean company has scheduled a press conference from 14:00 to 14:45 PM on 5 January, a day before CES 2016. Samsung hasn't revealed the products it will publicize at the event but it wouldn't come as a surprise if the Galaxy A9 is announced at the event.
A device with model number SM-A9000, believed to be the Galaxy A9, was earlier spotted on Zauba, a website that keeps track of imports and exports in India. The handset was sent from South Korea to India for R&D purpose and evaluation but not for retail sale. It comes with a price tag of Rs 23,402, which is expected to change when it becomes available in market shelves.
Yibada cited some of the possible features that the Samsung Galaxy A9 might sport. This handset may arrive with ARM Qualcomm at 1.40 GHz Octacore processor; a 3 GB of RAM with an MSM8976 motherboard, which is basically a Snapdragon 620 model; and a 1080p AMOLED 5.5 inch screen display.
MNR Daily also added that the upcoming member of Galaxy A series might sport a 32 GB internal storage capacity but it will have a microSD slot to expand the memory up to 128GB. A 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with HDR and autofocus, 5-megapixel front snapper for selfies and video calls, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, plus connectivity options such as GPS, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 LE are also expected from the upcoming device.
These are not yet confirmed yet, but considering the nearing CES 2016 event, it is likely for the device to be launched in the said gathering. For now, details about it are still scarce but Samsung's announcement might be made soon.
