Samsung Electronics will release another mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy A9, that is revealed to be engineered with an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor and a 32GB built-in storage. With the AnTuTu benchmark test, some other features and specs of this handset were discovered.
According to Yibada, an AnTuTu benchmark test was recently made with a device number of SM-A9000, revealing that Samsung Galaxy A9 will sport a 5.5-inch wide screen with a 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution. The upcoming device will be engineered with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor working hand-in-hand with Adreno 510 GPU having a Cortex-72 CPUs. The handset will also have an improved 10180p HD resolution for a full gaming experience.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 is also speculated to have a 3GB RAM, and 32GB capacity for built-in internal storage which is a mile higher than its predecessor, the Galaxy A8. The newest device by Samsung ran on Android Lollipop 5.1.1 for the duration of the test.
International Business Times added that the Samsung Galaxy A9 will have an external storage supporting 128 GB of microSD. And as for the camera, the device will be having a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera and the front-facing camera of 5 megapixels. This handset is also expected to arrive with dual-SIM support. The Galaxy A9 will be boasting premium appeal with its full-metal chassis.
Moreover, the NDTV Gadgets said on its article that nothing is known regarding the price and the launch date of the Samsung Galaxy A9. However, Samsung has sent out press invites from an event in Gurgaon, India wherein the Korean tech giant is expected to either launch its recently-unveiled Gear S2 smartwatch, or finally launch the much-awaited Galaxy Mega On or Galaxy Grand On smartphones.
If the specs that have been suggested through the benchmark test are to be believed, Samsung A9 might make a great competition in the mid-end smartphone arena. Meanwhile, those who are interested to have the unit on their hands still have to wait for Samsung's announcement regarding its exact release date.
