The 2015 Moto E (2nd gen.) smartphone has just been confirmed to receive the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade through an over-the-air (OTA) roll out. The device is up to receive a ton of new features and improvements.
Motorola has confirmed the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to the 2015 Moto E device following speculations that it might not receive the new build or at least not anytime soon. The second generation Moto E has not been included in the Android 6.0 Marshmallow plans of Motorola that was revealed in October.
As reports stated, the list was only preliminary despite the tech titan being silent about the roaming speculations. However, exact release date has not been detailed by far. According to Motorola executive David Schuster, the official roll out to their devices will commence anytime soon. This means that it will most likely come as soon as this month.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is confirmed coming to 2015 Moto E in regions like Canada, Europe, Latin America and Asia (not including China). The OEM did not mention any specifics about the US as of now, but is still expected.
Motorola is also slated to upgrade the 2015 Moto X Play, 2015 Moto G (3rd gen), 2014 Moto X Pure Edition in the US (2nd gen), 2014 Moto X in Latin America, Europe and Asia (2nd gen), 2014 Moto G and Moto G with 4G LTE (2nd gen), DROID Turbo, 2014 Moto MAXX, 2014 Moto Turbo and Google Nexus 6. In other parts of the world, the 2015 Moto X Pure Edition (3rd gen) and the 2015 Moto X Style (3rd gen) smartphones have begun to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update and is expected to hit devices in the United States very soon.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come with fresh features and enhancements in web experience, battery, user interface, and in overall system performance, particularly Doze, app permissions, Android Pay, Google now and many more.
