To say that Azealia Banks is making waves in her latest track is a big understatement. The music video for the track "Count Contessa" takes place on the beach, with Banks looking wet, wild and gorgeous.
In the music video, the 24-year-old singer is first seen walking down a street with a small piglet accompanying her. Her stroll takes her to a beach shoreline, where she encounters a fortune teller. On a different frame, the fortune teller happens to be the same person as the singer. Strangely, she is offered to have her fortune told for just 25 cents. With that small amount, Banks agrees.
Banks asks the fortune teller if she would ever find true love, to which the latter responds with a resounding yes. In response to this, the singer jumps up and down before saying goodbye with the fortune teller. Shortly after, the song starts playing in the background and the scene moves on to feature Banks wearing a bikini while night swimming. She is all smiles while near the water as she dances in joy.In one part of the video, some flames appear to rise beneath before the singer appears on the screen. And as the track ends, the singer is seen getting comfortable while she stands next to an unnamed woman.
The music video, directed by Rony Alwin, follows some visuals from her other music videos. It takes the same idea with access to the singer's life behind the camera.
"I've been working on a full body of work, aka an album, since I was 17 years old. Now, all sorts of things like life and circumstance have happened since then," Banks said. With a life filled with controversy, it's easy to understand why the bi-sexual singer prefers to get her story told on her music videos. With this video for "Count Contessa," it just goes to prove that Banks is one talented woman.
The track is available from Bank's upcoming album entitled "Fantasea II." While she has already canceled the rest of her shows under her album tour, the singer plans to make a comeback on stage next month.
