Verizon Company is preparing for its 5G network in 2017. It is believed that the carrier will test it next year and is expected to be as fast as Google Fiber. It means that download and upload speed can run for up to 1Gbps.

Lowell McAdam, CEO of Verizon, said in the Business Insider Ignition Conference that its company will be testing and launching 5G network as early as 2017, Tech Times noted. The CEO added that his team is keeping their feet on the ground regarding its upcoming high speed network.

Fool listed the reason of Verizon with the incorporation of such technology in their network. The report said that the company intends to increase its data usage to 14GB from 2.4GB by 2020 because of the growing traffic in the network. The traffic comes from data-heavy video streaming for up to 70% and it is expected to grow by 55% per year.

On the other hand, related report mentioned that Google's internet connection known as, Google Fiber, offers one of the fastest internet services in the U.S. Google Fiber is just available in some regions, but this time, it is expected that it will reach more regions. As Google said in the report, "Planning and building a new network from scratch takes time - and we want to work closely with every city to map out and understand all possible local needs and challenges."

Further, an exclusive page for Google Fiber, shows the cities in the U.S. where the 5G is currently working. It also shows the cities that will receive the network next. For those who would like to check their location for the said connectivity, they can visit the page and type in their own address.

While Verizon declared its plan for its network connection in the upcoming years, other carriers like AT&T expressed that it does not want to promise or commit anything yet about the aforementioned technology.
