Tekken 7 NEW Fated Retribution Update Adds Street Fighter's Akuma; Higher Quality Graphics Showcased in Trailer

Bandai Namco has surprised theTekken 7 fans when they showed a trailer of a classic Street Fighter character Akuma added to the upcoming arcade update to the popular arcade game subtitled Fated Retribution.

According to Shoryuken, the surprise arrived At the end of The King Of Iron Fist global Tekken 7 Tournament showing a new trailer with Kazumi Mishima asking a mysterious character to kill her husband Heihachi if she cannot do it herself.

While the scene has appeared to the previous trailers of Tekken 7, the new trailer revealed the mysterious character Akuma from the Street Fighter game series. Also, the surprise clip showed the classic moves of Akuma including Gohadokens and Goshoryukens.

According to Forbes, Kazumi's tragic relationship with Heihachi and her son Kazuya is a major part of Tekken's narrative. In addition, it is a "fascinating choice" for the developer to insert Akuma in the story because he plays a very similar role to Heihachi in the Street Fighter series.

It has also revealed higher quality in the game's graphics in addition to the all-new content. The trailer for Tekken 7: Fated Retribution can be watched via this link on YouTube.

For the first time in the Tekken gaming series, Tekken 7 is powered by Epic's UNREAL Engine 4 which offers a next-gen gaming experience. Dozens of game have been created in UNREAL Engine 4 including Capcom's Street Fighter V.

Tekken 7 was released at arcades in Japan on February this year. It was confirmed last October at the Paris Games Week that the game will be out for PS4 and Xbox One and will also support the PlayStation VR headset. But fans are still waiting for the announcement of the console release dates for the game.
