Xander Cage is returning to the big screen. This time he is bringing Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight champion of the world Conor McGregor and Marvel Studios "Nick Fury" Samuel L. Jackson in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage.
After his UFC's 13 second knockout, Conor McGregor's movie career is official on. The Irish champion told his fans that big Hollywood has been knocking on his door for a while now.
Diesel himself is no stranger to casting MMA fighters, having previously worked with former UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Roussey in "Fast and Furious" franchise. And it is just logical and good marketing for Diesel to include Mcgregor in xXx: The Return of Sander Cage. TMZ wrote, "Notorious" mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter has verbally agreed to join Vin Diesel in the upcoming xXx: Return of Xander Cage movie.
Vin Diesel also shared on his Instagram stating the Conor Mcgregor was on board for xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. Though sometimes Hollywood can be as fickle as the weather, but at the moment Conor Mcgregor and Xander Cage is a go.
There has been report as well that Mark Wahlberg is also interested in the Notorious Irish champion for an upcoming movie.
The movie is also bringing Samuel L. Jackson back. Vin Diesel's xXx has essentially serves as a test run for Jackson's later character as the equally wise and scheming Nick Fury in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). People are speculating that after Diesel disappeared in the first movie, Jackson has become the actor who effectively controls the xXx universe - if such universe exist.
The new movie has John Brancato and Michael Ferris writing the script. Meawhile D.J Caruso (Disturbia, Eagle Eye) will be the director and Neal H. Moritz as the producer.
There is has been no reports yet as to when is the release date of the new xXx movie. One thing is sure though, with Mcgregor's fan base and Jackson's popularity, the new xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" will earn more audience.
