Google has been working on the new Android operating system, the Android N. Published reports have been talking about the details of the next Android software. In fact, Sundar Pichai had a session in one of the universities in India and had the opportunity to answer some of the questions regarding the upcoming OS.
Sundar Pichai visited his home country, India, and had a session at the University's Sri Ram College of Commerce. From here, he answered the queries of both from live attendees and social media, Android Police reported. He was asked on why Android versions were not named after Indian sweets. The Google's CEO responded enthusiastically and said, "When I meet my mom, I'll ask her for suggestions." Though, on a serious note, he said that he and his team might conduct an online poll where everyone is free to vote with the name of the next Android version, IBN Live noted.
Pichai also stated in the related report that, since Android users are increasing in an enormous amount around the globe, opinions from other enthusiasts may be considered to name the next OS after an international dessert choice.
On the other hand, Tech Radar said that Android Marshmallow is doing impressive things to Google operating system, especially in phones. However, it seems that the OS is not able to perform split-screen multitasking in tablets. The report also mentioned that, though Android 6.1 is about to be released in June, it may not still be enough to correct the issue. Thereby, this is something that enthusiasts are seeing and hoping that the company can evaluate in Android N.
As of the moment, Google did not yet release any details regarding the inclusions and enhancements that the Android N can bring to devices. The company has yet to say about its plan of opening an online poll to name the next OS.
