Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on Moto X (Gen 2) begins in India [official]

On December 17 2015, the second generation of Moto X smartphone has started to receive the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update. The Moto X (Gen 2) is currently acquiring the update in India over-the-air.

According to GSM Arena, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update now hits the second generation of Moto X smartphone u in certain regions. The update is said now available in India and in Australia.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update delivers several improvements such as in-app assistance with Google Now on Tap, battery-smart features, new app permissions that will allow the user to have more control over its phone. The update has 884MB in size and is Build 24.11.18.en.EU, writes Android Authority.

The site also added that the 2014 Moto X Pure Edition in the US (2nd gen), the 2014 Moto X in Latin America, Canada, Europe and Asia2 (2nd gen) will also reportedly receive the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Moreover, the 2014 Moto G and Moto G with 4G LTE2 (2nd gen), DROID Turbo, 2014 Moto MAXX, were also mentioned to acquire this latest Mobile OS. Lastly, the Moto Turbo, Nexus 6, Moto X Force, DROID Turbo 2, DROID Maxx 2, 2015 Moto E with 4G LTE in Latin America, Canada, Europe and Asia2 (2nd Gen), 2015 Moto G Turbo Edition (3rd Gen) are included as well on the said devices.

In a separate report from NDTV gadgets, it is said that some company-specific changes in the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update have been employed by Motorola. The Moto Assist feature in the update has been removed by the company and under the 'Sound and notification' settings the 'Do not disturb' option will be found.

Based on the latest blog post of Motorola, the Moto X (Gen 2) in regions including Asia, Canada, Latin America, and Europe in phases are now slated to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. On the other hand, only the Moto X Pure Edition will be receiving the update in the US.
