Reality TV industry seen to rise with Honey Boo Boo comeback

In anticipation of the return of reality television's most popular toddler beauty queen, researchers in the entertainment industry believe that television viewership will decline.

Fans of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" would be delighted to know that the program will make its latest season premiere today on the TLC cable channel. However, despite gaining almost over 3 million viewers in the past, exactly how many are going to watch again?

Last year, IBISWorld's Reality TV Production's research on the reality television show market showed that the growth was slow. For the past five years, the viewership of such shows has not increased tremendously, but it did not reflect on profits.

The climate of the industry in which reality television programs operate was improved due to relaxed policies on credit and falling interest rates. Advertising prices rose due to the ratings boost. Because of this, industry experts think that even if the growth will be slow, the increase is assured.

"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" is a reality show about a family from McIntyre, Georgia portraying Sothern and rural America.
