Tonight, Robin Roberts received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs. Roberts owned a big name in sports before she launched a career in broadcast journalism. Roberts worked with companies like ESPN and ABC.

Robin Roberts triumphed over battles with both breast cancer and myelodysplastic syndrome. MDS was a disease that Roberts experienced as a side effect from her cancer treatments. A few days following her own mother's death, Roberts underwent a bone marrow transplant.

Roberts' estimated net worth was US$14 million. Her fortune came from serving as a reporter for Good Morning America and for hosting the Academy Awards pre-show for two times. Robin Roberts gained multiple recognitions for her broadcasting effort. This included three Emmys and a recently held induction into the WNBA Hall of Fame for her involvement to women's basketball.

ESPY Award was ESPN's way of acknowledging the performances of individuals or teams in sport-related ventures and accomplishments.
