Indian Businessman Jumps From the 19th Floor of a Hotel in India

According to The Times of India, initial investigations revealed that Sharan Kumar from Salem in Tamil Nadu had checked into Renaissance Bengaluru Race Course Hotel on April 6 and booked a room for two days for business purposes.

But on Monday afternoon, hotel security guards were alerted by passersby, who noticed the man moving suspiciously on the top of the hotel. By the time the security guards reached the 19th floor, Kumar had already jumped.

They reportedly heard a thud near the parking lot and found the Indian businessman dead in a pool of blood. According to the High Grounds police, how the body, including the skull, was crushed showed that it was a fall from a considerable height on the hotel premises.

Does the Indian Businessman Committed a Suicide?

The police said they identified the body with the help of the hotel management. They noted that based on the CCTV footage from other buildings, they believed it was a case of suicide.

According to police, witnesses saw the Indian businessman walking on the balcony of his room on the 19th floor and then "pushed himself through the large window and hung out." After holding the window frame for a few seconds, Sharan Kumar was seen letting go of his grip and falling.

Police said some passersby accidentally saw him hanging outside the window and recorded the incident, including the fall, on their mobile phones. Citing the hotel staff, a police officer said Kumar had already stayed at the hotel several times before.

The police noted that they did not find any suicide note from his room. However, they said they had yet to check his phone to see if he had sent any messages before ending his life. The police noted that the investigation is ongoing to determine why the young businessman decided to commit suicide.
