An Amazon delivery van is seen during Amazon Prime Day on July 12, 2022 in Alhambra, California.

Amazon is about to hold its annual Prime Day on July 16 to 17, which would feature massive deals and discounts on selected items.

In addition to the sale, Megan Thee Stallion would release her upcoming album on Amazon Music, with a single highlighting the sale featured as a bonus track.

The best way for people to let their friends into Prime Day is to give them a gift card, and Business Insider shared things people should consider on how to redeem its benefits.

How to Get an Amazon Gift Card

To get an Amazon gift card for oneself or someone else, users can go to the Amazon gift cards page and make sure that the account is logged in.

It is important for users to have an Amazon account in the first place to avail or redeem a gift card.

Then, click on the Amazon Gift Cards section and choose either to have eGift cards, physical gift cards, or printing it at home.

An alternative way is to choose Reload your balance, which is located toward the top of the page, to directly add funds to an existing Amazon gift card.

It is important to know the gift card balance if it is to be used to cover certain expenses. The desktop or mobile version of Amazon allows users to check the current gift card balance.

Adding Gift Card to Amazon Account

Upon receiving an Amazon gift card, the easiest way to redeem its benefits is to go to https://www.amazon.com/gc/redeem?tag=website-af-20 and log in. Then, enter the claim code printed in the card and click Apply to your balance.

The process could also be done in the Amazon app or the gift card section of Amazon's website.

Redeeming Amazon Gift Card from App

Amazon's gift cards come in both physical and virtual versions. For the latter case, users could use the Amazon app on both iPhone and Android devices.

First, open the Amazon shopping app and tap the person icon to access personal account information. Then, tap on Your Account, scroll down to the Payments section, and select Manage gift card balance.

After that, the app would bring the user to a page where one could redeem a gift card or add a balance to an existing one. Tap Redeem another gift card to activate it by scanning or entering the code on the card.

An alternative is to redeem the gift card from the checkout page by going to the Payment information section and tying or scanning the gift card number.

Using the Website

The process is similar if using the Amazon website in a browser.

Go to the Amazon website, then hover the mouse over the Account & Lists option in the top-right corner and click Account.

After that, choose Gift Cards to see the current gift card balance and transaction history. To redeem a new gift card, click Redeem a Gift Card and enter the code there.

The gift card could also be redeemed from the checkout page by typing the gift card number under Add a gift card or promotion code or voucher, and then, clicking Apply.

In the case that a gift card code could not be entirely seen, it is important to contact Amazon for help and provide the card's 16- or 30-digit serial number, order number (if applicable), the purchaser's and recipient's names, and the email or physical address where the gift card was sent.
