Apple Macbook users have something to look forward to come August 29. On this date, the new BioShock Infinite will become available to Mac App Store and Steam. Also, Mac gamers can pre-order the game from GameAgent.
BioShock Infinite is the third installment of the first-person shooter series. The game was a collaboration between Aspyr Media, Irrational Games and 2K Games. The game was announced way back August 2010 and was released last February 26 for Microsoft Window, Play Station 3, and Xbox 360.
Since its release, more than 4 million units of the game have been shipped, according to distributor Take-Two. It also topped the best-selling games list for March 2013, according to research firm NPD Group. Apparently, the game performed very well during that month.
However, the same cannot be said with the overall gaming industry. Sales fell by 10% in the third month of the year. New gaming hardware, software, and accessories spending totaled US$992.5 million from 2012's US$1.1 billion. New hardware sales suffered much as well, dropping 32% to US$221.6 million. Software sales also fell 1% to US$554.8 million.
