In a report by information technology news site CNet, Apple Inc's option for store pickup after online purchase of its new iPhone 5S online would be made available by next week. Citing two sources who told Apple breaking news site 9to5Mac, customer could now avail of the store pickup option after purchasing their iPhone 5S phones online as early as Monday next week.
CNet had contacted Apple to confirm the news and has yet to receive a response from the tech giant.
The stocks of the new iPhone 5S were scarce ever since its September 11 release. The gold-finish units were the most coveted ones and that presale orders had been filled just 30 minutes after sales had began. In Apple's online store, all new models had been listed as to be shipped in October. The company's retail stores and carrier partners on the other hand only got shipments sporadically since September 11.
Apple generated over USD35 billion in revenues in its third quarter, thanks largely to its iPhone sales of 31.2 million. However, it saw a decline in its iPad and iMac sales. Apple only sold 14.6 million tablets during the third quarter from 19.5 million in the second quarter. It only sold 3.8 million iMac units year-over-year as opposed to 4 million.
