Multiple leaks had indicated that Google Inc would be releasing its much-anticipated Nexus 5 smartphone sooner than later. A report from tech website Techcrunch sourced aggregate reports that the Nexus 5 smartphone would be released at 8AM PST today.
Earlier, a series of reports said that Nexus 5 would be debuting today. Mobile news aggregator and review site GottaBeMobile said Google would be shipping the smartphones starting November 1, and that orders would start immediately.
Nexus 5 would be sourced from perennial industrial partner LG. The smartphone would reportedly have a 4.95-inch, 1080p display running on a fast 2.3Ghz Snapdragon 800 processor. Nexus 5 would have 2GB of RAM, up to 32G of storage and front and back cameras. Techcrunch also claimed that Nexus 5 would be the first mobile phone to be equipped with the KitKat software update. This means that the phone would have a lot of software refinements.
Google posted a solid third quarter earnings results. The search giant recorded a 12% year-on-year premium on its revenues at USD14.89 billion. 68% of the revenues came from its core business.
