Beginning on November 8, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom would be available on AT&T. The carrier confirmed that Samsung's camera-centric smartphone would cost USD 199 if availed of with a two-year service agreement.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom has a camera featuring a 16-megapixel shooter, 10x optical zoom and optical image stabilization. It also has a Xenon flash. The smartphone is powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and boasts of over two dozen custom shooting modes. Hardware specifications include 8 GB internal storal, 1.5 GB RAM and a 1.5 Hz dual core processor. It is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS- capable as well.
Samsung posted a 50% increase in its profits for the second quarter, attributed mostly to the sales of smartphones and semiconductors. The company reported USD 51 billion in revenues and USD 7 billion in profits. Mobile sales still represented the firm's biggest source of revenues. It increased 9% to USD 31 billion for the period.
