The Vampire Diaries' camera assitant Sarah Jones dies while shooting a film

The hit TV series The Vampire Diaries faced a devastating loss. This was after one of its crew member died in a tragic train accident while filming a movie, reported HollywoodLife. Sarah Jones, a TVD crew member, was hit by a train while shooting Midnight Rider in Georgia. The incident happened last February 27.

After the news broke out, The Vampire Diaries aired a beautiful tribute for Jones that read: “In Loving Memory of Sarah Jones, 1986-2014”. The tribute was aired right after the series’ episode, No Exit. Following the episode, the show faded to black where the tribute message later on followed.
Undoubtedly, the message has called the attention of a lot of people to know more about the late Sarah Jones. The cast and crew of the series were also aiming to help increase on-set safety and prevent accidents like this to reoccur.


The cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries often referred to one another as a part of a family. Sarah Jones was only 27 years old and among the young crew of TVD.
