Devin Hester will not return to the Chicago Bears this year, reported ESPN. The Bears general manager Phil Emery announced the news on Thursday after the management of the team informed Hester that he won't be signing a 2014 contract.
Emery said, "For the past eight seasons, we have been honored to have Devin Hester as a part of our organization. While Devin has redefined the pinnacle standard of the return position in the NFL, the memories and contributions he has given us cannot be measured by stats or numbers."
Hester made 19 regular TDs in the regular season that included missed field goal of a 108 yard return. This made him rank as the all time punt return touchdown leader scoring 13 points. He also had a total of 18 kick return touchdowns.
NFL star Devin Hester joined the Super Bowl XLI scoring 92 yards. This led to giving him a record of 20 return TDs during the playoffs and the regular season.
