An Amber Alert was issued in Long Beach, California last Monday. This was after a reported abduction of a 12 year old boy, reported CBS Los Angeles.

After an hour and a half of issuing the Amber Alert, Sri Johnston, the mother of the abducted boy, was arrested by the US Marshal Fugitive Task Force. The arrest took place at 2:40 p.m., said authorities.

The 49 year old mother of 8 year old son Nicholas was charged of kidnapping. The District Attorney’s Office also said that Johnston was also charged with one count of custody deprivation.
The boy was allegedly abducted last Thursday afternoon. After new information was gathered, an Amber Alert was issued on Monday. This was according to Long Beach Police Department representative Nancy Pratt.

Last Wednesday, Johnston picked her son Nicholas for visitation but did not bring him to school the next day, said prosecutors. The father of the 8 year old boy held primary custody of Nicholas, according to the authorities.
