The latest installment for Apple Inc’s flagship mobile phones would be released as early as September. iPhone 6 would be launched during the said month, according to a report from Nikkei, a Japanese business paper. The report continued saying the new iPhone would be called iPhone 6 and would have a bigger screen—well, really big that is.
According to Nikkei, the new iPhone 6 would have a screen interface between 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch display. It also said that manufacturers may have started the production of the components for the new iPhone. This would include chips for liquid crystal drivers and fingerprint sensors.
Nikkei also added that the production of the new iPhone’s LCD panels would start as early as in the April to June quarter. The said production would transpire in Japan Display’s Mobara plant and Sharp’s Kameyama Factory, said sources who told Nikkei. Sources added that the display resolution of the new iPhones would also be significantly higher.
UBS analyst Steve Milunovich also said that the bigger iPhone 6 would be the only model that Apple Inc. would launch this year.
