Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime Confirmed Specs with Samsung Galaxy S5 Blue

By

When Samsung released its Galaxy S5 flagship, analysts predicted it will only be a matter of time before the company comes up with a range of variants. Previously, the company released an Active and Mini edition for the Samsung Galaxy S4. Lately, there have been reports saying that Samsung has been preparing for a Prime version of the S5. As the name implies, the Galaxy S5 Prime will target the high end market. There have also been reports about a Samsung Galaxy S5 Blue edition in the works.

The initial sighting of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime was on Amazon's website. The device was listed via the Spigen case. The device's status was a working order. People can still search for the Galaxy S5 Prime and the Spigen Strong-Flex case until now. The case comes in several colors like Capsule Metal Slate and Metal Slate. Samsung has not released any official announcements about the Samsung Galaxy S5 although reports about the metal case should support the release of the device. Industry observers also believe manufacturers have been receiving information about the release of the handset.

Indian import site Zauba, on the other hand, listed the device as SM-G906S. The site listed the device last April 6 saying it received "SM-G906K Kor_KTC Samsung Mobile Phone Set (For R&D Purpose)." To strengthen the case about the device's release, it also showed up on AnTuTu benchmark. The site listed the following specs under the Prime model: 5.2-inch Quad HD (QHD) screen, 2560 x 1440 resolution and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The device will reportedly ship with 2.5Ghz quad-core Qualcomm processor and Adreno 420 GPU. Other reported features include 15MP primary camera with HD video capabilities and 2MP camera.

Notorious tipster @evleaks also tweeted the following: "Samsung SM-G906, the 'Galaxy S5 Prime' for Korea, to come in five colors: black, white, gold, blue, and sweet pink." The tipster additionally revealed an image showing a blue Samsung Galaxy S5 with a Verizon logo. Throughout history, devices showing on AnTuTu have always been released - same with tips from @evleaks.
