The Samsung Galaxy S5 set the stage for upcoming releases of Samsung this year. It provided the market an overview on what Samsung has been focusing on especially with its device offerings. Similarly, following the release of the S5, all eyes turn to the next big release from the company: the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The launch of the handset is also around the same time as Apple's iPhone 6 drawing more interest. Can the Galaxy Note 4 be a contender against the iPhone 6?

SamMobile reported about Samsung testing another possible variant of the Galaxy S5. However, there are some components or feature on the devices that do not come with the original flagship. The device also runs on Android 4.4.3 indicated as the present edition of the KitKat update. The Android 4.4.3 KitKat update has yet to roll out to Galaxy S5 thus a possibility of a completely new device.

Because the device is not yet offered commercially, there is a high chance that it may be the Galaxy Note 4. A report by Views Times supports this pointing out new prototype spotted under Samsung. Casting aside the Galaxy S5 Prime, the next best device is the Galaxy Note 4. There are several killer features that people can expect from the Note 4 according to reports: "Smart Fingerprint," Aqua Capture," and "Swipe to launch Motion Launcher."

The Aqua Capture offers the same functionalities as the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active's Aqua Mode. This allows users to take photos even when they are underwater. It also suggests that the Galaxy Note 4 will be water resistant similar to the Galaxy S5. The Smart Fingerprint function offers fresh ways of tailoring fingerprint sensor actions whereas the Swipe to Launch is just like the Motion Launch option available on the HTC One M8.

CNET reported previously about a Samsung executive hinting about the Note 4's release this September during the IFA.
