The series "Jon & Kate Plus 8" hasn't been in the news since couple Jon and Kate Gosselin divorced in 2009. Yet seperately, they still continue to make headlines.
Most recent is a new tell-all from Radar Online, which gained an exclusive statement from a nanny who reportedly worked for Kate Gosselin. According to the nanny, Gosselin was demanding and demeaning:
"She was condescending and always put me down. She never let anything slide."
Gosselin also wrote out an extensive rulebook that all nannies had to follow to a T. The rules inside required nannies to not only take care of Gosselin's eight children, but to cook, clean, landscape, take care of the trash, maintain Gosselin's pool, and feed and care for Gosselin's private chicken coop.
According to the anonymous nanny, the chicken coop rules were as follows: "Chickens need to be let out no later than 8 am daily and put back no later than 5 pm daily. Eggs need to be collected once in the afternoon and washed, dried, labeled with the date and [placed in] cartons." Nannies were also required to scrub away any traces of chicken droppings
Hardly an appropriate job for a child's caretaker.
More rules from the rulebook include:
"Each day, twice a day, each room in the house, including bathrooms, should be straightened, returning ALL items to their proper places. It is stressful to come home to clutter! Very important! [As a] general rule, the house should never look like it is lived in by the end of the day."
"The kitchen is my baby. I have an exact way of caring for it. There is definitely a right and wrong in the kitchen. Knives are very expensive and ONLY get washed BY HAND....I have meltdowns about my knives and improper use regularly, FYI!"
"Please do not place purses, grocery bags...on kitchen counters. All of those things may be placed on the floor! I absolutely freak out!"
"[No] stomp walking. Use light feet! I teach the kids that no one should be able to hear you walking. Please do so AND teach the kids!"
The nanny in question was the primary caretaker for Gosselin's eight children, although the nanny also stresses that more than a few other nannies came and went, quickly fired or fleeing due to the stress and strictness of the Gosselin household.
Also mentioned in the report was Gosselin's tendency to take long vacations and leave the children at home, prompting such long stays of nanny time. Last year, ex-husband Jon Gosselin decried her behavior as "disgusting and awful."
