Apple Offers $100/$50 Back-to-School Promo for MacBook Air and Pro, iPad and iPhone Before Release

By

It appears Apple has been gearing up for its hardware release this September as the company started offering its "Back to School" deals. Consumers purchasing new Macs can get up to $100 Apple Store Gift Card while those purchasing an iPhone or iPad can get up to $50 Apple Store Gift Card. Analysts believe that the promotions and deals under Apple are also part of the company's bid to sell out stocks for new ones this fall like the iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 and the 2014 MacBook Pro.

People can now avail redeemable gift cards from Apple on their future purchases. Eligible consumers include students and faculty who will purchase Mac, iPad or iPhone. Under the promotions, students and teachers who bought a new Mac can be eligible for a $100 gift card. A $50 gift card will be given to those who buy an iPhone or iPad. More importantly, faculty and students can avail these discounts on top of the reduced prices offered for educational consumers. Apple has been encouraging the use of its products to support education. The back-to-school promotion is part of this initiative.

Apple Insider also reported that Mac models are available as low as $200 if they will be purchased supporting Apple's education initiative. The iPad can net up to $30. Apple is not offering a similar discount scheme to the iPhone. The iPhone series is also excluded from the on-contract buys.

The promo will last until September 9, 2014. People can check out and avail the deals and discounts through Apple's physical stores or the U.S. Online Apple Store. Other online shops that people can check out for discounts include Best Buys, Adorama, MacMall and B&H. Analysts expect September to be big for Apple given its reported upcoming releases. The phablet version of the iPhone 6 is expected to drive sales.
