2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors and Predictions: Kyrie Irving Recruiting LeBron James

By

The Miami Heat remain confident that they can retain LeBron James this off-season but there is a solid chance that he will be heading for a different road in the next chapter of his career. Several clubs, such as the Houston Rockets, L.A Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, and Phoenix Suns are believed to be "real players" for the best basketball player in the planet in at least some capacity, but if LeBron does end up parting ways with the Heat, it will possibly be for a reunion to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team that drafted him No.1 overall.

The Cavs are doing everything in their power to bring LeBron back home. Even Cavs owner Dan Gilbert is doing his part to recapture the trust and relationship that they once bitterly lost with the 4-time MVP by removing all those demeaning letters he posted towards LeBron in the past from the team's website. And right now, even the Cav's current franchise player Kyrie Irving is joining in the crusade and has made a pitch to LeBron.

"Kyrie Irving has made recruiting pitch to LeBron James, sources say. ESPN reports Kyrie as saying Cavs will get LeBron all the help he needs" according to a Tweet made by Sam Amico an NBA columnist for FoxSportsOhio.com and a co-host in the "Cavaliers In The Paint" weekly show.

It does sound like LeBron will have all the help he needs when he returns to the Cavs. What Cleveland lacks in experience they make up for talent and youth. Their roster features a deep pool of young, gifted players that starts at an already All-Star caliber point guard in Kyrie Irving, this years No.1 overall draft Andrew Wiggins at the shooting guard position, Tristan Thompson at the power forward position, and Anderson Varejao at center. They also have Dion Waiters and Tyler Zeller who are also part of the mix.

If LeBron James joins the Cavs this offseason, then he may not have to carry the team on his back like what he did with Miami in the finals. No more resting Wade in the season or LeBron doing everything from scoring, rebounding, playing defense, and even setting the team's offense because the Cavs really have talent in virtually every position that can help ease the burden on James. What they lack is a true and proven leader who will guide them to the top and LeBron is just that.

The rumors persists, however, that all this possibility about a reunion with Cleveland is all just a smokescreen and the King is resigning with the Heat anyway. But if LeBron is really looking at things in an objective perspective, the Cavs are certainly an excellent option. Besides, there is no place like home.
